Hytric's eyes followed Tarelyk's finger, and when he saw the wolf, he jumped back a foot or so in surprise. And then slipped when he landed and fell on his rump. He stayed like that for a second, then leaned forward and used his arms to pull his legs up against his body. "Hey, a dog. Yours?" he asked Tarelyk, eyeing the weird path in the sand behind the wolf. Wondering about it, he closed his eyes briefly, and a series of images filled his mind. When he opened his color-shifting eyes again, he studied the wolf with knowledge instead of ignorance. Standing slowly, he said, "Guess not. I think she can help you, though."
