The jingle was like a melody and it wrung through the trees loud and clear. It was easy to hear it from all the deep recesses of the dark forest.

It was a sweet sort of melody that slowly blended into something else. Humming rose to join the sound of the jingle bell, blending in perfectly. At first it started low, and then it began to grow as if more voices had joined in. The sound formed a protective circle, a sort of barrier that had come out from around the trees that circled the neko, who was new to this dark forest.

Sets of slitted, brightly hued orbs came into view, glowing through the darkness that was brought on by the deep thick shade of the canopy of large oak trees around them. The humming turned from hums to words, a sly, slick, thick melody that rose and hung in the air around her. Like bubbles that rose from water, it popped out of nowhere and held a metallic feel. It was pleasing to the ear and entranced most who could hear it.

"Welcome to the world of beauty.
The world of fantasy and fame.
Here you will be royalty.
Come and chase your pain away.

Be true to your heart, feel the desire inside of you.
The softness of darkness,
The lure of sleep.
Drift away now, down, down.
Theres a world of pleasures awaiting you;
Just close your eyes."

The sleep that came over her was exactly to be expected. When they were sure that she was enjoying herself in a glorious sleep that they had placed over her, the beings emerged from the darkness.

Most would find them hideous. The resembled humans in the most part, except that where ears would be, large fins were in their place. Their skin was a sickly pale green color, and each being had different colored scales that littered different places in different patterns on their bodies. Their eyes were small and slitted like a felines, being the same color as the scales that decorated their skin. Their fingers were connected with a thin bit of webbing, as were their shoe less feet, and though they wore clothing a strange film could be noticed over their skin as if they were constantly submerged in an aqueous solution.

The one that stepped out front was a man. He was aged compared to the others, built strong and steady. Lines of muscle could be seen etched out on his chest through the black sleeve-less shirt that he wore, along with the lines of muscle on his stomach. Metallic blue scales were placed in diamond shapes on his shoulders, in the center of his forehead, on his hips (which could barely be seen for the heavily belted black pants), and on the tops of his feet.

He bent down, flashing his bright blue eyes on the sleeping form of the neko, and picked her up gingerly in his arms. As he turned about and began to walk back into the darkness, the others followed suit of him, falling into that gentle hum again.

The small procession of strange beings disappeared into the darkness, more than likely to be going back to their large cavern home, which was perched on the sandy shore of the black lake in the middle of forest.

She was placed on a stone slab in a room that was all by itself. For a second the man creature looked over her sleeping form. It wasn't usual for him to see something such like this. He tilted his head to the side as he looked at her, blinking his slitted eyes in slight question. What was she?

He passed the pale palm of his hand over her forehead though he didn't touch her skin. "Wake up," He spoke in a low strange hiss that was almost like a snake's voice. Not only did he speak aloud, but he spoke into her mind as well.

"Shhh!" He warned softly, raising up his green hands in slight protest to any kind of loud noise that she might make in her sudden fear. He could see it in her eyes, not to mention smell it coming from her body. His fins were extremely sensitive and he couldn't be standing for anything that would be rupturing them.

The webbing between his fingers spread out as he began to walk around her. It was probably for the best that they hadn't chained her down at all. Restriction only lead to bad things. He leaned down and rubbed her ears between his slimy fingers, feeling the strange sensation that was brought upon him. "What are you?" He asked with gentle eyes.

His head bobbed slightly, the golden strands on top of his head brushing against his forehead as he did so. "Neko," he repeated to himself, the word sounding like a hiss again. A strange smile spread over his face as he stepped back from her. She seemed very much on edge, although that could be guessed. "Where do you come from?" He asked, tilting his head curiously as he gazed at her.

He shrugged his shoulders, his muscles bulging from the outline of his tight shirt. "Ah, I see." He nodded softly, pointing towards the slab of rock that she was sitting upon. "You can sit up you know." He offered her a small smile, leaning back against the wall so that he could give her space.

"What is your name?" He asked in that same curious voice. He wanted to know everything about this new comer since she was so different than anything else he had known. He knew that she was female because she had the same body features as the kind of his race did.

He blinked a strange sort of blink, lifting his webbed fingers and throwing them through his hair. The golden blond mop bounced back right directly where it had been previous to his action.

"Goldlaria," He answered softly with another nod of his head. He found her to be completely fascinating. It was a strange sort of curiosity that his species liked to have knowledge at their fingertips. He moved away from the wall and stood in front of her with his hands crossed in front of himself. "Are you hungry Goldlaria?" He asked with a gentle voice.

He felt slightly saddened at the thought of her not being hungry, but he shrugged it off anyways. "Ah, well that's okay then." For a few minutes he was silent. If she was not hungry, then what was he to do for her? He had just taken her prisoner, and now he had nothing nice to do for her. She was stuck in a place now that she probably didn't want to be at.

Rubbing his slimy hands together out of a nervous habit, he looked down at the ground. What to do, what to do...

"Do you want a tour?" He asked suddenly, looking back up at her with hopeful eyes.

He smiled happily at her, glad that she had actually accepted his invitation. He moved over to the doorway of the room and pushed over the slab of rock that was blocking the doorway as a makeshift sort of door. "Alright, this way madam."
