"Okay, Goldlaria then." He answered with a tossed smile over his shoulder. He lead her down the hallway which was lit up with strange lights that looked like different colored stones that glowed from the wall around them. He ran his fingers along the cold, smooth rock walls that was around them. "This is the cavern that we all live in, and I'll be giving you the grand tour so that hopefully you will not be getting lost any time soon. Though I may be nice, some of us aren't so nice to strangers."

Goldaria inclined her head slightly to that. "It would figure that some would not be nice to strangers. I know my own people were not exactly treated well by humans."

Re: The Strange Forrest (magic) | ||

He nodded his head at this, taking a right turn sharply down another corridor. "That could very well be true seeing as how it is a rare occurrence that humans are ever very nice to the creatures that they come in contact with." His voice was low as he spoke to her, and seemed to get lower as he talked about humans. They were terrible creatures with odd sticks of power. He didn't like them, and should one of them come wandering into his forest....they would never return.
He took her into the first opening that was not closed by a slab of rock. It was open wide, and curved widely outwards as the room opened up. Strange blots of color made their way up the walls of the sides of the room, which gave off a brilliant glow that sent rainbows of color everywhere. The room was mostly empty except for carvings out from the wall of benches, three rows of such. In the middle of the floor was a large basin in the shape of an indented circle. On the floor about the basin were markings; obviously some incantation that was written in a language unknown to most creatures. Water filled the basin, slowly added in one drop at a time from a small hole in the ceiling. Every time a drop hit the water it would spread a different color into the pool, only to blend back into the clear silverly liquid. "This," he started, looping his thumbs into the belt loops of his black pants and moving off to the side so that she could get a full view of the room, "is our room of deep thought. Divination, if you will. It's an art that has been in our people for many many generations and isn't to die out yet. Only two people are allowed in at a time, the divinist, and the seer." ![]() |

Goldlaria inclined her head slightly. "That is very interesting I have heard of seers, but that were only ever one amongst my people, though I don't remember much of them because they were killed." There was a hint of sadness in her eyes when talked about her race... But it was true they had been killed by humans.

"Only one? That is too unfortunate." For a moment, the strange reptilian-like man bowed his head and was silent. There was something about his rigidity, and how his eyes were closed that meant he felt great sadness about the news. And honestly he did. He couldn't even begin to think of only having one in a mass number of a people.
When his moment of silence was over, he snapped back into place and began to walk briskly towards the basin. He stepped around the letters in a strange sort of walk that made his slimy skin slip on the stone floor. He faced the basin, standing at the indented side, and then flashed his bright blue eyes back onto Goldaria. "It works like this. The divinist will touch the water with a part of himself, while the seer sits in the benches. As soon as the part of the divinist touches the water, a signal is sent to the seer and a vision of greatness is fired into their heads." He smiled as he talked about the event, his eyes lighting up with passion. "It leaves both parties nearly exhausted, but it has allowed us to live so well all these years undetected by people." ![]() |

Goldlaria smiled faintly. "I am glad it has, yes we only had one seer and we needed only one. But even so she was very old and when the time came to chose the next seer she had to be deligent over who had the ability... But before she could chose the next seer the enemies came, and every one died. They came so fast that not even she had a vision to tell her or we would have been prepared... My cousins to the southern tribe had many seers and sooth sayers, and soul sayers but though they knew of the danger they could not come quickly enough to warn..."

Silence was only observed on the man's behalf. He stared into the water of the pensive in front of him through unblinking and unwavering eyes. It was a terrible idea to think of so many people dieing, and when you were the two of your tribe slung into one being a very perceptive imagination was not always such a good thing. "Let us not speak of such tragic events anymore. Such things make my heart weak." He stepped away from the pensive, being just as careful as before to not step on the words. He lead the way out of the room of deep thought and back into the hallway, which he then continued down.

Goldlaria inclined her head slightly, and followed him out. But feeling that it had always helped her to talk about her past when depression loomed for it eased some of the guilt she felt for surviving when she should have died.

He moved down the hallway for a while longer before the hallway opened up into what would look like a crossroad. There was a large open bubble in the cave here, where different passageways broke off of other places. Here, many other creatures that looked a lot like the golden haired man she was with milled about. The bent down to gather water from the hole that was in the middle of the floor, or to pick strange purple-blue fruit from the maroon vines that made their way up the sides of the wall.
He pointed in turn to the separate passages from left to right. "That will lead to the observatory where we keep our greenhouses, insect bisectionaries, and medicinals. That will lead you to the dormitories. This one that we're going to take will lead to the mass halls, cleansing room, and the outdoors." He nodded his head to her and rushed forward. A few of the other creatures watched as he lead Goldaria on, and they waved or smiled to him in turn. Happily he would wave or nod back to make sure that they knew he was acknowledging them. ![]() |

Goldlaria followed him, and listoned as he described things to where and where the other places would be, so that she would not get lost.

The halls on this side were long and there were long pauses where there were no doors. This was made for purposes to confuse outsiders so if they entered from the outdoors, they would think that they were in an abandoned passage.
The first door that they came to was not guarded by a slab rock door either. He entered that one as well, the sudden overwhelming light that was coming in bounced off of his golden hair, making it glitter and shine. The source of the light was a large hole in the ceiling, carved out to let the sunlight shine in. Unlike the other room, this one was pretty full. Long tables lined with chairs filled the whole length of the room. There was a small place on the far wall where a nook was carved out and food was placed there on platters for people to line up and to eat. The floor in this room was actually covered with large and ornate rugs that did not match the decor of the other rooms. "Mass hall," he explained as he drew into the room. "This is where we eat everyday. There are too many people to fit into one mass hall, so we have 5...I think." He nodded his head as he presented the room. ![]() |

Goldlaria blinked at that. "Its very large..." She was not used to so many people, but then the neko was rather much of a loner, and what she saw made her think of one thing that made her neverous a cage...

"I guess," He answered as he shrugged his shoulders. He moved out of the room as if it were nothing and on down the hallway. He had lived here all of his life and grew up to fill his fathers shoes. Such things like these were no big deals to him. He was used to special treatment and had gotten it all his life. Now though, now that he was older, he hadn't wanted it at all, and was determined to break the monarchy chain that had plagued this place for so long.

Goldlaria followed wanting out of the room, she was afriad she would faint, and luckily she had not... But being to close to people made her feel as if the walls were closing in on her. The neko it seemed it was closterphoic.

The next room that they entered was just as large if not larger than the last room that they had been in. Fortunately for Goldlaria, it was not as filled as the other one had been in.
Large basins like the single pensive jutted out from the floor, except there were only three and they were extremely large. The design made two circles joined by a diamond. They were filled with what looked like regular water, but a thin layer of steam and mist coated the air around them. Waving some of the stuff out of his face so that he could breathe, the golden haired head bobbed up and down a bit. "Washing room," he explained. "you dip yourself into the pool of water so that it is over your head, stay submersed for a few minutes and then come back up. Our water is the purest you can find, and that is all you need to do in order to get clean..." He smiled, seemingly very proud of where he had grown up in. ![]() |

"I think you should," He continued with a soft nod of his chin. His eyes glinted when the light from the sun bounced off of the mist and hit them. "I know that I'm going to. I'm plenty dirty from rescuing from that nasty forest out there. You know that you made me tramp through mud carrying you back here?" He lifted an eyebrow, his lips now cocked to the side in a smirk. He brushed his own question off by pushing forward into the washing room, and instantly going towards the diamond that was in the center. "The diamonds the hottest."

Goldlaria did find that amusing though. "That might teach you to go after someone when they are lost." Then she made her way into the was room, she liked warm water but not very hot water.
