Goldlaria faintly smiled at his out burst. "There is water in the desert. One just has to look for it, though they are often hidden in osaises and guarded zealously by other mythical creatures. How ever the northern tribe lives near one which is why they have been able to stay sationary unlike mine. Or you could always stay here, but I must go because I am the only one who knows what the north is dealing with. That and I am honor bound to do my duty for my people..." Wind began to slowly pick up around the golden female, though it was a warm hot dry like wind that came with it a hint of something exotic.

Goldlaria narrowed her eyes slightly. "Are you very sure about that? Also you might want to get a few weapons just in case something does try and attack. I am going to try and get the portal as close to the northern tribes main entrance as possible. But even so it may be a bit difficult as I have not exactly been there before. Though Bast did give me a visual map of one of the entrances of their village."

When Malakai had reached the cellar, a figure formed out of the shadows, the female elemental of water. But she was widely known to his people, though at this time she took the form of a sea serpent, her voice hissed out softly. "You are worried that you will not survive in the desert, is that not correct my dear friend?" Her name though had been Vitalina though she often changed it every few centuries. "I have something that help keep the effects of the desert from dehyraditing you permanently. You will have to wear it though at all times, because if you do not. Then you may not survive the battle that will shortly take place." She threw at him an amulet that was placed on a necklace of very thin mithral like material. "That is the water amulet and it will keep you safe in the desert for as long as you are there. It will create a water shield around your body that cannot be destroyed. How ever if it is removed you will be at the mercy of the desert itself."

Then she vanished allowing him time to think about wearing the amulet, though she did not stay long enough to hear a thank you or of anything of that nature. The water elemental had other things to do this day. But she had good relations with his people and for the moment she wanted to continue those relations.

Meanwhile back in the chamber Goldlaria waited hoping that it would not take Malakai long in getting his armor and weapons. But she withdrew her sword, and made a few graceful practice sweeps with it. Allowing her mind to block everything around her, as she practiced fighting an enemy that wasn't there. She had found her zone, but have it interupted while in that state could be dangerous. Only when she allowed herself to come out that state did she realize where exactly she was at. Placing her sword back into its sheath, her ears flickered backwards as she heard sound. "I hope that is him comming and not some one else."

Goldlaria inclined her head with a smile. With a small flick of her claw like hands, a portal appeared, warm dry winds flowing out of it. She made her way cautiously into it. Having the set destination in mind, and where the portal needed to take them. Though she had never been to the northern tribe. Bast had given her a full mental map.

The portal appeared on the entrance to the main part of the center of the tribe. Entricate walls carved in arcs arose before them, some with carvings of strange animals that only inhabited the desert such as the winged manticore, and female manticoress. Others were from places so exotic that even the golden furred feline could not believe they existed.

Seeing those symbols she smiled, knowing that she had reached the right place. "This is it, and now to find the leader in this place. And tell them of those who are arriving. The seers will know who I am." The guardian headed directly towards the entrance not looking behind her to see if her friend was following or not. But then the most important thing in her mind right now was the mission of preparing her people before the enemy arrived.

Goldlaria passed many rows of homes, other furry animals like her came out to see the strange golden furred female, and bowed their heads in respect though she paid little attention to it. For they knew the presence of the guardian. She reached one of the homes of the seers, its home, was intricately designed though displayed some simple tastes. But that was as far as it went.

Goldlaria stopped before the female seer, who was blind. "Tell Cromnus that I must speak with him, and gather the truth sayers. You know why I have come here Moonaria." The white blind female inclind her head and softly spoke though her words were more like music then the golden furred females voice had been.

"I will do what I can. We saw you forcoming, and of terrible things. He did not want to believe, but now he has no choice. I shall call the others, and bring the meeting to alert." Then she took off with the speed of a cheetah, for in essence she was built like one. But unlike goldlaria, she had not been born into their tribe, but had been adopted into it, when her mother had died within the tribes home.

For the most part many of goldlarias people paid little attention to Malakai except for a kitten who had to gain its upright walking position like most of her people at her age could do. For some reason or another she was a throw back to their feral gene. The little kitten came to a rolling stop against his foot. Glancing upwards it looked at him. "A fishman." Came the soft voice.

Goldlaria heard that, and stiffled her laughter quickly hidding it though her golden green eyes betrayed the action. She couldn't help it, what the kitten had said was sort of cute in a funny way. Then she walked on to the meeting place, which was more like a large carved out bowl in the ground, almost like an arena of sorts.

Goldlaria spoke softly. "You are allowed, they believe you are a body guard of some sort. If I did anything to correct that thinking then no they would not let you pass." She gracefully stepped down on the flight of stairs, and into the bowl like cavern.
Weaving past millions of furry looking felines, some in neko shape, others in feral form. Each choosing their own comfortable area to sit and listen to what the guardian had to say to their tribe leader, and sanding in full cermonalial robes was the cheif, a steal blue colored neko that looked as harsh as the landscape around him.

Cromnus glanced at the guardian. "What is it that you have to say guardian of the desert, and be quick about it. I have more important matters to attend to."

Goldlaria spoke softly, though steal lanced through her words, harsh even in this dry land. "The invaders your tribe warned mine of are comming here to finish what they started with the south tribe. I am the guardian of the desert, and it is my sworn duty to see that the last tribe of the free desert cats does not die, like others before. Unfornately your warnings to my tribe came to late, but this warning has not. I arrived before the enemy and it is up to you to prepare for war. The enemy must not go unpunished for what it has done. It has cost the desert an eco system that cannot be replaced except by your stationary tribe.

If you do not prepare you will die, and go the way of our exotic kin the cactus cat, where one now only remains. If we are to vanquish the enemy, the walls must be fortified against attack. Your seers told you of my comming but you did not believe them. Perhaps now you will."

Cromnus snarled slightly. "Then I will have my people prepare for war, the blood of your enemies guardian will sink into the dry ground, there will be nothing left. It has long sense I itched for battle, but one cannot believe everything the seers tell. For evil also works to mislay information and I could not trust them to give me the right information. Seers are faulty at best, and evil grows strong in the land. They have told me manticores travel with the enemy, and dark mages work evil magic. You will have your job cut out for you. But we will do our best to slay as many as we can." Then he glanced at his people. "Prepare for War, and vengence against thine enemy the slayers..." His eyes glowed a metalic blue for a second.

It was if he had dismissed the meeting, the others who could see rushed out of the bowl, young and old. Except for the remaining seers, some blind, some that could see. The seers, and truth sayers talked amongst each other. For awhile.

Goldlaria turned and smiled at him. "I have always conjured my armor Malakai. It was made long ago back before my tribe was killed. It was one of the first spells we kitlings learned. I will only wear it when we go into battle right now everyone has gone to sharpen up their skills in combat at the training grounds."

She had in some way sensed his jealously for a moment or more. "And there is no need to be jealous of me, you are a leader in your own home, you are a king there. I am merely a guardian here, guardians have respect yes. But that only goes so far we are not above kings or queens. We are warriors when we have to be. Though many guardians would prefer that fighting would end and peace take its place. There are many guardians that are tired of the wars. But they go on because if they do not evil will destroy the innocent. And evil is rising not just here, but everywhere in the world. You do not feel it in your forrest. But that is why Bast had to go talk to the forrest guardian, and the forrest spirits. She had to warn them of what was comming."

Goldlaria smiled faintly. "I will never truly be free, but such is the price a guardian pays, to protect the innocent. You may not be a warrior, but there is no time like the present to practice with your weapons. But first there is something I would like to see. I do not belong here with this tribe. They are my cousins yes, but my families clan was as I said destroyed by the enemy... This same enemy that comes here to finish what they started only now they will regret having done so."

"What do you have to be sorry for, you did nothing to me. You could have very easily harmed me, and you did not when you captured me." Then she glanced away, and started walking away from the meeting arena. Except Moonstone stopped with a silent gaze.

"They come Goldlaria, your warning came fast, but they come faster with dark magics. Though many of us cannot see, we use our other senses to fight with. There is much to be done, you were once part of this world Goldlaria, but you have been other places, and though the desert moves through you. You will always command the desert element, you are bonded to it like nothing else. But the desert also hides its treasures from those who would seek to use the guardian in vile ways. Remember goldlaria that the key to your very weakness is the heart." Moonstone knew that the other would catch what she was speaking of. It was not the psyical heart but the spiritual emotional one.
