She raced through the forest, her black hair flying behind her as she ran until she felt like her legs were going to collapse underneath her. With a sudden cry
she fell to the ground as her foot became entangled in a tree root, but she quickly broke free just as the footsteps of those following her began to reach her
ears. She could hear the shouts and clang of weapons as they followed her, but she kept running until she finally ducked into some thick underbrush that looked
as if it would offer at least some escape for the time being. She hid as far in as possible until her back hit one of the trees, and there she sat with her
arms crossed protectively over herself as she watched her persuers approach.
"Have you found her yet?"
"No not yet, she's more slippery then she looks."
"Well keep searching, and when you find her make sure you kill her."
This conversation was nothing new to Vivian, she knew this would happen from the very start. Being from a pure-blooded family of vampire royalty, even falling
in love with any creature outside her own race was considered taboo in every sense of the word. However she had broken that law and fallen in love, and now she
carried the result of that relationship within her. She had discovered she was pregnant only a few days prior to this, and had told her lover soon afterwards.
They had made plans to escape together but someone had caught wind of their plan and now Vivian was forced to run while hoping she could make it to the cave
where they were to meet without getting herself killed. Not only that but she couldn't lead the vampires in that direction so she was forced to create a
diversion while she ran.
Once the talking and footsteps had faded off, Vivian quietly slipped out of her hiding place and raced towards the nearby caverns. So far her plans to confuse
these vampires had worked to some degree, but she wouldn't be totally safe until she reached the caves. Taking the last streach at her inhuman speed,
Vivian only chanced one glance over her shoulder before she vanished into the cave's darkness, but she had seen no one even when she finally reached the
familiar sanctuary. She could still hear their shouts and talking, but it was distant now. All she could do now was hide here and wait for him to meet her
there as they had planned, and at the same time she prayed he hadn't been seen or caught. True she had made sure to make it look like she was running in a
totally different direction, but there was no guarantee even that would work and she tried not to think about it as she sat huddled at the back of the cave
with only her black colored cloak wrapped around her to help her blend into the shadows.
